Why is my order delayed?

In most cases, books that are on backorder (In stock at the supplier) have a higher chance to be delayed. Since it will be sourced from our supplier, the timeframe will also be dependent on the supplier's capabilities to deliver the item to Zookal on time. 

The reasons behind Backorders are:

1. Unexpectedly high demand:
Unusual surges in demand are the most obvious cause of processing delays. This can be a result of product seasonality, books becoming viral, or various other unexpected events.

2. Critical Weather Events:
Production and shipping can be delayed as a result of extreme weather events such as truck fires, hurricanes or tsunamis etc.

 
Please note that this is also possible for In-stock items if multiple customers placed an order at the same time and limited stocks are available on hand which can result in the item being on backorder.

 
For the cases above, be assured that if suppliers foresee a potential delay, an update will be provided and Zookal will also contact you immediately for this information if the item needs to be sourced from a supplier together with the estimated shipping timeframe.
